JC_LS135 Jefferson City, MO Fri Dec 07, 2018 MO Dept of Ag-USDA Market News Missouri Weekly Direct Slaughter Cattle (week end 12-07-2018) Confirmed Sales: Week to date: 520 Last week: 0 Last Year: 240 ( These prices acquired from Missouri producers ) Trading from late last Friday through Friday morning remains light, with grid and flat prices firm to higher with no comparisons from last week. Very muddy feeding conditions in the area and the extra feed have producers wanting to unload cattle as soon as possible. It seems traders are focusing on market demand for the New Year with economic concerns and overall economic market directions as the Stock Market continues on a volatile roller-coaster ride. Slaughter is expected to be near 640K-645K for the week as packers will push to have one last large kill before Christmas and New Years.
